2025-2026 Teams, Coaches and Tryout Information  

If you are planning on attending Bison Hockey tryouts, please fill out the Pre-Registration Form.  The registration will open on February 8, 2025.  We will be working through remaining coaches and updating as information becomes available.  If there is enough interest we will field a second team at any age level.

Tryouts will be held at:

North Buffalo Rink - 156 Tacoma Ave, Buffalo

Nichols School Rink - 1250 Amherst St, Buffalo

Tryout Fee $20 which covers for both nights.  A $150 deposit will be required at signing.  Cash, Check or Credit Card will be accepted for payment.

Become a Red Dog and Join the Fun!

The Buffalo Red Dogs are the Mite Hockey teams at 6U (2019) - 7U (2018) -  8U (2017) for those looking for the full hockey experience.  We will incorporate players into our Mite Development program and add extra practices and games building from cross-ice jamborees at 6U to full ice at 8U as we prepare players for full ice hockey at Squirt Minor.

Please contact the Head Coach to express interest in tryouts with any of the teams listed below.

Organizational fees cover everything associated with the team except tournament fees, apparel, jerseys and travel costs.

Fees include all ice costs, officials, league fees, skills instruction, administrative costs and much more.  

Q: Who can I contact for questions about a specific team?

Q: When does signing begin?

A: Player Agreements will be issued on the day of tryouts.  If offered a contract, players will be expected to leave a $150 deposit upon signing.

Q: When are tryouts?

A: Tryouts for player 2012 and younger will take place on March 5 and March 6.  Tryouts for players 2011 and older will take place on April 9 and April 10.

Q: Do I need a release?

A:   All players not included on an Obligation List received by the Section President as required above, are deemed by NYSAHA to be Released pursuant to Rule 4.A and B for purposes of the commencement of the 2022-2023 season.  If a player on the Obligation List satisfies the obligation with the Association, the Association must immediately notify the Section President of the player’s removal from the List, upon which the player will immediately be deemed Released by NYSAHA.

Q: How will I be notified if I am selected for a team?

A:  All families should have an answer on the night of tryouts as to their status.    Your spot on the team will not be secure until the organization has a copy of a signed contract for 2024-2025 and a $150 deposit.  Please do not leave until you have heard from the coach.
