The Buffalo Bison Bantam Minor 2001 Team completed their league season on Saturday February 28, 2015 losing a 3-2 heart breaker in the WNYAHL championship game versus the league leading Southtown Stars.
The Bisons came in to Saturday's game having beat #3 seed Erie 3-2, and finishing regular season play with an impressive 13-3-2 record. The team played an extremely entertaining game that highlighted their teamwork, passion, and skills. Several chances to tie the game late in the third kept the crowd on their feet. The team would like to thank their parents, families, and friends for their support all year long.
They have had a successful year following on the coattails of last year's birth in the state tournament. They also had tournament success winning the bronze division in the Rochester AAA Tournament in the fall and came in 2nd in the NJPE Presidents Day Tournament in February. The team (currently ranked 6th in NY and 61st in the country) looks forward to one more tournament this March before setting its sights onto tryouts for next year's state tournament bound team.
The coaches are extremely proud of the boys whose teamwork truly showed that the strength of the Bisons is in the herd and not the individual. Go Bisons!
