Both Jaime and Colleen played with the girls program at Bison Hockey

On Friday, October 31, 2014, William Smith College (Geneva, NY) will play their first varsity women’s hockey game in their inaugural season in the NCAA – Division III Women’s Hockey. The head coach for William Smith is Jaime Totten. Jaime was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Northeastern University in 2000. William Smith College will be traveling to Boston, MA for their 1st game to play UMass – Boston. The head coach for UMass – Boston is Colleen Harris. Colleen is a Buffalo, NY native as well. Colleen graduated from Boston College in 2009.

While both head coaches played their collegiate hockey in Boston for strong Division I programs, Jaime and Colleen have another common bond. Before their college hockey careers, both Jaime and Colleen played with the girls program at the Buffalo Bison Hockey Association for many seasons.

Their dedication to the sport allowed them to excel at Girls Level of New State Hockey (numerous New York State Championships between them) and at the National Level of USA Hockey, again with frequent and strong performance at the USA Hockey National Championships. Jaime and Colleen both became captains of their respective college teams.

We are proud of the accomplishments Jaime and Colleen have earned through their playing and coaching careers and wish them well as they continue contributing to the great sport of hockey.
