On Friday October 27th, the Buffalo Bisons 12U Girls TB team headed down the I-90 to participate in the Premier Ice Prospects (PIP) Roc City Girls Fest. This is a well-known girls hockey tournament with 44 12U teams from all over the United States and Canada attending. The Bisons were in the top TII division with 9 others teams (Adirondack Northstars, Amherst Lady Knights, Burlington Barracudas, Canton Minor Blades, Howard Lady Huskies, New Jersey Bandits, New Jersey Colonials, Valley Jr Warriors, Vermont Jr Cats).

In the 3 game division seeding round, the Bisons came out charging with victories over Howard (12 - 0 W), Canton (5 - 2 W), and Vermont (4 - 0 W). With the 3 wins, they earned the #1 seed in the 10 team division going into the playoff round on Saturday night. In the Saturday night Quarterfinals match-up, the Bisons took down the NJ Bandits by a score of 5-1. Next up was the Sunday morning Semifinals game, a rematch with Canton. The game was a tight tilt with the Bisons prevailing by the score of a 2-1. 5 wins and 1 more to go!

The 6th game of the weekend, the TII division championship game was set for Sunday afternoon against cross-town rivals, the Amherst Lady Knights. Both teams were ready to crank up the offense for this one. The crowd enjoyed the back and forth battle as the score changed hands multiple times (1-0 Bisons, 1-1, 2-1 Bisons, 2-2, 3-2 Amherst, 4-2 Amherst, 4-3 Amherst, 4-4, 5-4 Bisons, 5-5). The championship game was going to oooooooooovertime! Overtime was played 3 on 3 and with 1 minute remaining, the Bisons lit the lamp for the championship victory! What a great game. The team stormed the ice and were all smiles for the championship banner photo!
